UNDERRATED & UNDER THE RADAR: FEELUH BY RUBII

Rising RnB/ Soul singer and rapper RUBII has blessed the scene with her smooth, sultry voice that radiates and an effortless, infectious confidence. Her upbringing in Birmingham was deeply influenced by music, as both her parents are musicians. RUBII’s dreamy mix of soul, R&B, jazz, and hip-hop is clearly showcased in her latest release FEELUH (2025). In an interview with Clash, she shares that her sound and style reflect her being “vexed by also relaxed.” RUBII is assertive in her lyrics yet maintains a calming, lightly textured voice. This contrast not only highlights her genre-blending production but also her talent for creating a unique sound that is authentic and elevates her messages.

Tracks like ‘Confidence’ and ‘Forgive and Forget’ embody those qualities as she discusses the importance of integrity and staying true to herself while managing her increasing fame. Meanwhile, ‘Keep Hush’ with dancehall-infused RnB singer Amaria BB pairs perfectly with the Brazilian-influenced rhythms on the sultry, love track. ‘Twin Flame’ is easily the most upbeat song on the project, utilising trap-like drums and punchy instrumentals while discussing balance and duality. RUBII’s signature nonchalant singing style with elements of haziness is in many ways irresistible. She’s immersive and emotionally warm, which tracks like ‘No Love’ and ‘Grow’ capture.

The UK RnB scene has been flourishing this year with artists such as Sasha Keable, Joy Crookes and Ama Louise dropping sensational albums. RUBBI stands tall with her peers, continuing a sense of unapologetic confidence while carving out her own dreamy and immersive space in the RnB space.
