Chy Cartier has been on a high and making her mark in the UK drill scene for the last two years. Yet her recent colors performance and debut album No Big Ins mark the Noth-London MC as a storyteller who’s here for the long run. Cartier’s confidence and effortless flows and production makes her stand tall next to her drill peers. Cartier’s ability to fuse classic influences like Lil Kim and Foxy Brown with a modern flare pave the way for another powerful female narrative in the UK music scene. Cartier showcases a sense of playful assertiveness while also sharing the stories that have shaped her into the fierce MC that she is.

KIBO

Kibo spun the Victory Lap cypher with Dave, Central Cee and most recently with JME and Skepta. His comedic chops, inventive style led to several reloads and Dave describing him as ‘moving superhuman’ on the mic.  From being a student of grime, to freestyling alongside the veterans, Kibo mirrors the flows, hunger and DIY culture in his verses and music videos. It’s his inventive vernacular and quick wit that demonstrate his high lyrical skills and create an almost other-worldly experience.

DEERIGINAL

Like Kibo, Deeriginal also has a playful style that defines his refreshing take rapping. While his predominate focus is on the spoken word style, he often creates a hybrid within his lyrics and production that blend grime with rnb or other U.K genres, defining this sound as fresh air music. With the return of Red Bull Culture Clash, Deeriginal featured heavily in red bull cyphers where he glided seamlessly over grime, garage and dancehall tracks, filling the room with hype and demonstrating his incredible lyrical strength. In many ways, he’s enticing yet playful especially with the freestyle challenges of rhyming random topics and objects. Last year, Deeriginal released a documentary about London exploring the different lives of artists across the city, demonstrating that he has some exciting things in the pipeline.
